- Product showcase / promotional content
Target audience:
The main target is young adults who love collecting figurines and toys, love simple clean but fun aesthetics and have disposable income.
The solution:
A project that fits any collection while providing an aesthetic experience. Creating designs that mixes a retro minimal editorial vibe and fun colourful maximalism to evoke joy and attract a general crowd but also the current major market of figurine collectors.
Since our target audience have a lot of digital and social media experience, we use AR to help them see the product visuals and design prototypes in real time. The experience and the variety of products showcased adds fun and people love to experience fun.
Process and product visualisation
3D Product process:
Focusing on childhood items, we often remember stuffed animals. I decided to 3D model teddy bear and bunny using Nomad Sculpt as a concept and Blender for remodelling a low-poly version.
By adding elements such as metal piercings and glass materials, it adds a premium feel like luxury toy collectable companies product. The glass look also works with any aesthetic, any light and any room, seamlessly blending in every collection. Holding a glass in different environment also makes it a fun material to work with.
Design process:
Using my own collected blind boxes as a base, I build a dieline in Adobe Illustrator from scratch which I used it to build the 3D box in Blender. Using that and the 3D product, I designed the packaging in Photoshop using patterns.
Purple gradient colours help to create a neutral airy and luxurious feel. Simple star patterns to relate to collection and fun element. Minimal bold text to add the retro nostalgia. An aesthetic and fun box with embossed elements in front and top for sensory element. Finishing it off by incorporating legal assets and labels.
AR integration:
In order to create a more interactive and visual realtime product visual exprience for people, I created a low-poly version to that worked with AR softwares. Using some of the basics as well as the templates, I was able to create this real time interactive product visual (QR code below).
